Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our professional dog grooming services.

Welcome to Jessgroomer. To ensure a safe, happy, and professional experience for everyone – especially your beloved pet – please take a moment to read our terms and conditions.

By booking an appointment with us, you are agreeing to the policies outlined below.

1. Our "Comfort Over Aesthetics" Philosophy

Our goal is to make grooming a positive and comfortable experience for your dog. We always put their wellbeing first and will not push them through a process if they are showing signs of stress. This means that while our aim is always to complete the full groom as planned, the session may be adjusted for your pet's comfort. If a groom is ended early or a specific task (e.g., nail trimming) cannot be completed due to a dog's anxiety, the full fee for the booked service will still apply.

2. Health, Welfare & Your Pet's Care

Your Pet's Information:

To provide the best possible care, it's essential that you inform us of any health conditions, allergies, or behavioural needs your pet may have. Sometimes, the grooming process can highlight a pre-existing condition, and it's helpful to be aware.

Emergency Care:

In the unlikely event of an emergency, you give us permission to seek immediate veterinary care. We will always try to contact you first. The client agrees to cover all expenses for any veterinary care required.

Elderly or Infirm Dogs:

We take special care with senior pets. As the grooming process can be tiring for them, the session will be tailored to their comfort and may be stopped early if it's in their best interest. The fee for the booked service will still apply.

Pregnant or In-Season Bitches:

For the comfort and safety of the dog, we are unable to groom bitches who are pregnant or in season. We will be happy to reschedule for a more suitable time.

3. Matted Coats

For dogs with matted coats, a surcharge of £5–£10 will be applied to cover the extra time and care required for safe and effective grooming.

Please note, severe matting must be clipped to protect your dog's comfort and health. Pulling or attempting to brush through severe mats can cause pain, skin irritation, and even injury. Clipping ensures grooming is safe, stress-free, and in your dog's best interest.

All grooming is carried out in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, prioritizing your pet's well-being at every stage.

4. Behaviour, Safety & Styling

Your Dog's Behaviour:

Please let us know if your dog has ever shown signs of aggression or anxiety during grooming. In the rare event that a dog should bite, the owner agrees to cover any related costs, including medical bills, equipment damage, or loss of income.

Styling Expectations:

During our consultation, we'll discuss your styling preferences. Please note that we are professional pet groomers focused on creating beautiful, practical styles and do not specialise in official show-standard cuts.

5. Appointments: Timekeeping & Cancellations

Booking Deposit:

A deposit of £15 is required to secure your appointment. This deposit will be deducted from your final bill.

Cancellations:

We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 48 hours notice so we can offer the slot to another client. There is a late cancellation fee of £10 within 48 hours, 50% of the groom price the day before, 75% of the grooming price on the day.

No-Shows:

If a client misses an appointment without notice, the full fee for the service will be required before any future bookings can be made.

Late Arrivals:

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, I may not be able to carry out the appointment and it may need to be rescheduled. In this case, your deposit will be retained and 75% of the grooming fee will be applied. A new deposit will be required to book a new appointment.

6. Parasites, Pricing & Payment

Flea Policy:

If fleas are found during your dog's appointment, a flea treatment bath will be carried out immediately and a surcharge of £5–£10 will be applied. This is necessary to prevent the spread of fleas to other pets and to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

In cases of heavy infestation, the appointment may need to be stopped or rescheduled. In this situation, full service fee will still apply.

You will be advised to treat your dog with an appropriate flea treatment and ensure your home environment is fully treated before rebooking, to prevent re-infestation.

Payment:

Payment is due upon collection of your pet. We happily accept cash and bank transfer. As a self-employed groomer, all payments are made directly to Jess (Trading as Jessgroomer).

7. Our Partnership: A Safe & Respectful Space

We are committed to providing a caring and professional service. In return, we ask that all interactions are respectful. Abusive or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated, and we reserve the right to refuse service to ensure a safe environment for everyone. 🤝

8. Our Hold Harmless Agreement

Grooming equipment is sharp, and while we use the utmost care, accidents can happen, especially if a pet is nervous or wiggly. By using our services, clients acknowledge these risks and agree to hold Jess Groom Pet Grooming and Jessica harmless from any liability or claim arising from the grooming process or from any pre-existing conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to welcoming you and your pet!
