Hi there! I'm Jess, and I'm so excited to share my story with you.
I'm a professional dog groomer with 5 years of experience and a proud dog owner myself - my little toy poodle is my absolute world! Because of him, I truly understand how important it is to find a groomer you can trust, especially with nervous or anxious pups. That's why I'm dedicated to making every grooming session a positive and stress-free experience.
My journey to dog grooming started back in 2021 when I decided to follow my passion and leave a career in finance. You'll find me at Arkadia Dog Grooming here in Newton-le-Willows. I take my time, using calm techniques to make sure every dog feels safe and happy. I specialize in Asian fusion trim - I just love getting creative with them!
As a certified professional pet stylist with a Pet First-Aid & CPR certification, your furry friend is in the safest of hands. My work in both Hong Kong and the UK has given me a deep appreciation for diverse grooming styles and a passion for providing loving care to every dog. We currently accept:
- Cash - Exact change appreciated
- Bank Transfer - Details provided when booking
Payment is due upon collection. As a self-employed groomer, all payments are made directly to Jess (Trading as Jessgroomer).
If fleas are found during your dog's appointment, a flea treatment bath will be carried out immediately and a surcharge of £5–£10 will be applied. This is necessary to prevent the spread of fleas to other pets and to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
In cases of heavy infestation, the appointment may need to be stopped or rescheduled. In this situation, full service fee will still apply.
You will be advised to treat your dog with an appropriate flea treatment and ensure your home environment is fully treated before rebooking, to prevent re-infestation.

Final pricing depends on your dog's size, coat condition, and temperament. We always provide a clear quote before starting.
For dogs with matted coats, a surcharge of £5–£10 will be applied to cover the extra time and care required for safe and effective grooming.
Please note, severe matting must be clipped to protect your dog's comfort and health. Pulling or attempting to brush through severe mats can cause pain, skin irritation, and even injury. Clipping ensures grooming is safe, stress-free, and in your dog's best interest.
All grooming is carried out in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, prioritizing your pet's well-being at every stage.

By appointment only. We recommend booking in advance, especially for Saturdays.
A deposit of £15 is required to secure your appointment. This deposit will be deducted from your final bill.
Deposits help to:
- Secure your appointment time
- Reduce missed appointments
- Allow me to manage the schedule effectively
Please note, if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, I may not be able to carry out the appointment and it may need to be rescheduled. In this case, your deposit will be retained and 75% of the grooming fee will be applied. Also a new deposit will be required to book a new appointment.
We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 48 hours notice so we can offer the slot to another client.
- 48+ hours notice: No charge
- Within 48 hours: £10 late cancellation fee
- The day before: 50% of the groom price
- On the day: 75% of the grooming price
- No-shows: Full service fee required before rebooking
